Executive and Leadership Coaching

“Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to high sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.” – Peter Drucker

Hazel works with executives and leaders who are ready for change and transformation - people who are ready for the next step in business, work or career.

She provides an opportunity to create a compelling vision, identify areas for development, overcome challenges and maximise potential.

Results can include enhanced confidence, clarity and visibility; a clearer sense of direction; refreshed levels of engagement; breakthroughs in leadership and career progression; renewed enthusiasm, satisfaction, happiness and wellbeing. A stronger sense of self, and the ability to bring presence to any interaction.

“Your coaching has had a profound positive impact on my life.”

One to one coaching programmes

Most coaching programmes take place with monthly sessions scheduled over 6 – 12 months. Following an initial discussion to identify the overall aims and objectives, Hazel creates a coaching alliance with her clients in which they can think, learn and grow. All programmes can be discussed and agreed with the sponsoring organisation and line managers where appropriate.

Sessions are available face to face, by telephone or Zoom.

Typical client challenges include:

  • How to lead in a challenging, changing, fast-paced environment
  • Overcoming confidence issues
  • Identifying and working with core values and motivators
  • Dealing with communication challenges
  • Holding difficult conversations
  • Managing conflict
  • Maximising potential – yours and others
  • Managing work life balance
“Hazel has perfectly honed listening skills….   She immediately gains confidence/builds rapport and trust and is focused on helping the individual make the necessary change in support of their development.”

One-day Coaching Vision Intensive Programme (VIP)

“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.” – Joel A. Barker

A Coaching Vision Intensive is a 1:1, deep-dive coaching experience that provides a unique opportunity to take some high quality, accelerated thinking and visioning time out away from the office. Giving you the opportunity to access clarity around what’s next in your leadership, business, career and/or life.

Who should attend?

Leaders who want to work on a vision for themselves, their team or their company.

Positive psychology framework

The programme uses a framework of positive psychology to enable you to generate an inspiring, flourishing future for yourself, your team and your business.

  • Identify, refresh or up-level your existing vision and goals
  • Explore strengths and values-based leadership
  • Develop a strength-based action plan to forward the vision
  • Time out for some mind-expanding, enriching, future-focused thinking
  • Clarifying what’s important to you now and for the future
  • Creating a compelling vision and action plan you can’t wait to begin!

We will ask you to complete some initial pre-work involving stimulus questions and an online strengths questionnaire.

The Vision Day:

  • The day itself consists of a series of mind-expanding exercises to stimulate generative visioning and thinking. It includes an energising walk in nature to focus on values coaching and ends with creating a compelling, strength-based action plan to forward your vision.

After the day:

6 weeks after the Vision Day there is a follow-up coaching call to review the action plan and set new goals.

“Since my vision day with Hazel I have managed to increase my income, widen my range of clients and deepen my enjoyment of what I do. I can highly recommend Hazel. She has a way of working which allows people’s own strengths to come out, and it is this which forms a strong basis for lasting change.”

Programmes for Groups and Teams

“If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.” – Henry Ford

Hazel provides training and facilitated sessions for groups and teams. Her aim always is to bring out the best in you, your team and your organisation. She uses a coaching approach to enable teams to take ownership of their learning rather than a traditional teaching style. Half or full day sessions are available and can be tailored to your needs.

Topics she regularly works with include:

  • Building an effective team
  • Values in action
  • Understanding communication styles
  • Coaching skills development

Bespoke sessions are also available for team away days.

“Many thanks for facilitating our learning team away day. It was an important day for us and a milestone for the team in moving on from a significant reorganisation. The team really enjoyed the day and your facilitation was excellent.”

Action Learning Set Facilitation

“Action learning implies both self-development and organisation development.” Mike Pedler 1991

Action Learning Sets are based on learning by reflecting on an action or experience. Typically involving groups of 4 – 8 people (often peers), each participant addresses an issue and is supported to find a way forward through coaching style questions posed by other Set members. Learning is put into action between sessions.

Action Learning is a highly effective tool for individual and group learning and brings real results to the working environment.

Coaching Supervision

Hazel works with coaches on a 1:1 and group basis and provides coaching supervision to organisations looking to quality assure and develop their coaches.

What is Coaching Supervision?

Coaching supervision is a process of reflecting on coaching practice to learn, grow and develop as a coach. It provides a safe, protected space where coaches can step back, take stock and sense-check practice with a trusted professional.

What can you work on in Coaching Supervision?

Coaching supervision provides a space to address areas of challenge and development in coaching practice. These could include:

  • Challenges with particular clients
  • Issues around confidence
  • Skills development
  • Dealing with feedback
  • How to contract effectively with clients
  • How to conclude a coaching relationship
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Professional boundary issues
  • Loss of motivation or energy with coaching work
  • Coach wellbeing
Hazel helped me to build confidence in my coaching and develop my skills. Hazel’s calm and focused approach gave me time to think and her powerful questioning helped me to gain new perspectives on scenarios and take fresh insights into my coaching.
Sharon Morse, Executive Coach

Hazel’s supervision methodology

Hazel is trained to use the seven-eyed model of supervision which is based on a systemic view of coaching practice.  She also works with a range of other tools and approaches which might include values and strengths, systemic coaching constellations, action learning sets (in group supervision), brainstorming and the use of cards, objects and metaphors.

Hazel’s supervision style

Hazel’s supervision style has been described as quietly assertive, calm and authoritative, challenging and supportive. She sees her role as being there to support coaches to develop and to ensure safe and ethical practice.

She listens, offers powerful questions, reflections and feedback. She also challenges where that seems helpful or at times essential if there is any risk of unethical practice. Hazel aims to offer her presence from a perspective of possibility and compassion. She is committed to supporting the development of coaches for the benefit of clients, organisations and the coaching profession as a whole.

With her warm empathetic manner Hazel creates a safe environment in which to share.  Her supervision style is unobtrusive and yet totally in control, guiding the process and realigning where necessary. Personally, not only do I learn from my and others’ experience and Hazel’s perceptive insights, but also from her style which I’d love to emulate!

Olivia Graham – Executive Coach / Business Psychologist
I have found supervision sessions with Hazel enormously beneficial. She has given me the space to explore and test out issues with exactly the right balance between challenge and support. Thank you!
